A study of The Piano Lesson by Henri Matisse by using coloured pencils, felt tips & water colours & coloured paper cut-outs.

10 Different Artistic Pictures of The Piano Lesson by Henri Matisse. The process began when I looked at the original picture & I drew the pictures of them on mini postcards sized pieces of paper. Some of the pictures were abstracted or created or also altering the colour. The picture was done by using the colours of Matisse’s Snail. I started using light pencil shades of grey & the final picture became full of colours.

From the studies of The Piano Lesson, these 2 are my favorite because i love how the coloured paint felt tips are standing out & that i put a black biro around the pencil so that everybody can see better. The black biro around the edges mean that it makes the picture a lot better because when I was very young, my grandmother taught me how to go over the pencil in biro. This was to help clear the picture.
